Driving conditionsDry and Wet

The Bridgestone Alenza 001 is a high-performance summer tire made for light trucks, SUVs, and Crossovers. It is an excellent tire to drive in wet and dry road conditions. With its sportier tread, the tire is also drivable on fast tracks and highways. It provides a stable ride with responsive handling and brakes for a safe and sound ride all season.

With that, this is one of the most comfortable tires in this category. Whether it is on fast tracks or on slow everyday rides, the tire delivers a quiet and comfortable ride in any situation. This Y-rated tire is a proper tire for achieving high-speed rides without compromising on treadwear due to the optimized contact area, which wears off evenly.

This is not a tire to drive in winter or snow conditions, so you should keep another set of tires if you are using this Bridgestone Alenza 001 tire. The performance of this tire is the reason why most of the big brands like Lexus and BMW are using this tire as an OE with their new vehicles. It is also a great tire to use with electric vehicles due to the low rolling resistance and quiet rides it provides in the summer season.

Pros

  • Comfortable and quiet rides in dry and wet conditions
  • Proper handling response with confident traction and grip in rain and hot highways
  • Low rolling resistance tire for saving gas on every mile
  • Very durable tire compared to other summer tires with 10/32 tread depth
  • Short brakes and quick acceleration to achieve greatness on track and high-speed roads

Cons

  • There is no treadwear warranty, but it is durable though
  • Loses traction in wet conditions at a fast pace

Tread design and improvements

The summer tire has a slick design for proper performance however this Bridgestone Alenza 001 summer tire has deep tread which is the reason why this tire has more durability. The tread features an all-season compound under an asymmetrical tread pattern which improves tire contact, and even wear on fast tracks and city roads.

The tire utilizes Bridgestone’s new Enliten technology, which is environmentally friendly and reduces energy consumption, which makes this tire a great fit for electric vehicles. The center rib, contact patch, and sharp edges all combine to improve the tire traction and grip with proper steering response in dry and wet conditions. With all that, the run-flat technology is something that assures this tire’s safety, which keeps moving for 50 miles even after a big puncture.

Durability and road life

The durability of summer tires is always under question because they require proper handling response and road feedback, and the tire can not be durable enough to improve performance. Similarly, this tire is not that durable; however, compared to other summer performance tires, it is great.

Although the tire has no treadwear warranty, it can cover about 40K miles on summer roads. This tire’s more durable treadwear is the reason why it does not deliver the sportiest ride, even though the contact and response are fine, however on fast tracks, the cornering and stability do not satisfy.

The tire specs about speed and load index are great, the tire can go at the maximum speed with this tire. The traction rating is not the highest, which is why it is not the finest tire in wet conditions when it comes to fast rides. Besides that, the 300 treadwear rating is fine for driving longer on summer tracks and roads while achieving comfortable and spirited rides.

Performance of Bridgestone Alenza 001

Dry Tracts & Streets

This summer tire is great in dry road and track conditions, the fast pace, proper traction, and grip really help the track-spirited drivers. With that, the smooth rides and short brakes are also something that is appreciated by the drivers. And on dry roads and highways, the tire delivers comfortable and quiet rides, so that every type of driver can enjoy this tire’s performance.

Wet Tracks & Streets

Due to circumferential grooves and shoulder notches, the tire performs great in wet conditions as well. The tire provides a smooth ride, by resisting hydroplaning and providing a comfortable and quiet ride. If the water is quite high on fast tracks, then a slow speed would be recommended because it sometimes loses grip, especially at a faster pace.

Comfort & Response

The handling response on tracks and streets is great, although it is not as good as other max-performance tires. Still, it is great to enjoy on track. Due to deep tread depth, it can not match the performance of high-performance tires with a slick tread design. Other than that, the comfort is at the greatest level of this tire, which is why most electric vehicle drivers are using this tire with their vehicle.

Cornering & Stability

Cornering at a fast pace is somewhat acceptable on dry roads, however, in wet conditions, trying to curve at a fast pace is risky due to its unpredictable performance in wet conditions. The optimized contact area is helpful in achieving stable and smooth rides on streets and tracks as well.

Comparison with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV

Both of these tires are great and fall under the summer performance tires category. Both of these are new tires and have some advantages over others. The Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV is a better tire to drive in wet and dry conditions, considering the track performance, on the other hand, the Bridgestone Alenza 001 is a proper tire to drive on street dry and wet conditions due to its more comfortable and smooth rides.

Even though the Michelin tire comes with a 20K miles treadwear warranty, the Bridgestone tire is more durable and wears off more evenly. Other than that, the Michelin tire is more expensive and lacks the feature of run-flat, so choose out of these tires based on your preference because these are the top two tires in this category for SUVs.

When Bridgestone Alenza 001 Is Not Prefered

This tire is not preferred for drivers looking to tackle all weather or all seasons, because it is made for summer conditions, it is not a good tire to drive in wet and snow conditions excessively. In this situation, an all-season tire will be a better choice because it will cover more miles, will be more durable, and will cost you less than this Bridgestone Alenza 001.

Similarly, if you are looking to drive only in streets and normal everyday roads, rather than going with this tire, you should pick touring summer tires because this category has tires with more durable treadwear and more comfortable rides. Choosing the tire based on driving conditions and preferences not only improves the performance but also reduces the chances of uneven or early wear-off.

Final words

The Bridgestone Alenza 001 is an excellent tire for SUVs and electric car drivers looking for a comfortable ride on the streets and sporty rides on fast tracks. It performs in both conditions and with run-flat and low rolling resistance, the tire is safe to drive and provides an economical ride by reducing gas and energy consumption. This tire is great for your car and for the environment due to the low release of gas emissions while driving.
